What differences or similarities do you see between your posting and other classmates’ postings? he United States Department of Homeland Security was created through the United State congressional Act 2001 and passed in to law 2002 called The Patriot Act with a lot of responsibilities under this act but the me provide some level of information of the United States Department of Homeland Security United States Coast Guard USCG responsible for Coastal guard Protection, Customs and Border Protection CBP responsible for Border protections entry points , Immigration Custom Enforcement responsible law enforcement function , United States Citizenship and Immigration Services , United Secret Services responsible Presidential Protection including currency protection , Transportation Security Authority TSA responsible for all forms of transportation, Federal Emergency Management Agency FEMA is responsible for man or natural disaster responses. These are other federal agencies that are under the direct supervision of the United States department of Homeland Security with a critical role that the agencies performance required domestic intelligence foreign intelligence including foreign counter intelligence against States Sponsored Terrorism with listed and to be listed Terrorist Organization money Trans Atlantic Crimes such duplication of currency, Human trafficking, fronting Companies money laundering to terrorist operation in the global communities for terrorist attacks on the United states and it’s allies .With the several agencies the direct operational supervision of homeland Security they are 247 institution with all of there the above the largest and effective network across the world they have very successful in bringing the level of Terrorism and terrorist action under controlled with the massive arrested of leaders and assassination of the world most wanted terrorist leader with the supportive operational network of allies nation along with the United Nations , the 911 attacked in the United States New York, Pennsylvania Washington DC with with Airplane from the Air with Al Qaeda the instruction September 11/ 2001 Under the administration of President George Bush Jr, United State Embassy attacked Nairobi Kenya, and Tanzania under the administration of President Clinton A lot of preventive are been put into motion that there will not be repeated action for which of the actors are been caught either in the planning stage or about to execute theirs actions the records speaks for the level tracking the agencies has done over the years including the data of where they are and how they can caught or to prevent theirs action I stand to be corrected . Reply: would say that the most compelling topics of this course was the research that I conducted on the various departments of Homeland Security. In particular I would say the research that I conducted on CISA and the different areas that this department is responsible for. With prior knowledge and understanding of CBP, USICS and ICE, this seemed to be the most challenging one to look into and further understand. Protecting the nations cyber security infrastructure is very complex and at times people can think that it is not that big of a deal and it can often be overlooked. In the analysis of the budget of DHS it is found that not very many funds are granted towards this department which seems to be very shocking. So many things are operated via internet and computer systems that you would think that this would be something the government would spend more funds towards protecting and securing. With everything from transportation to energy to finances, there isnt much left that isnt tied into cyber security. With one hack or virus, it would be very easy for a terrorist to crippled the nation at the press of a button. Cyber security and infrastructure is an imperative department as technology and information continues to move forward and new ways to attack the country are advanced each day as well. Cyber security continues to be the wave of the future and more advancements will need to be continually made. I dont believe there are any questions left when it comes to this course. This was a course that I was excited about as it dove deeper into homeland security and the multiple departments within it. For the longest time I simply thought DHS was simply one department only to find out it is 22 which separate missions and goals that are ultimately tied into one: protecting the nations security from terrorist threats. Participating in discussions always seems to be worthwhile and beneficial should you choose to take that away from it. I always look forward to the comments on the posts I make whether it be from fellow students or the professor himself. It allows me to think deeper into the context in which I am writing and provide more insight to the topic I choose to write about. In this class it actually helped me to understand my outline more; specifically the introduction of my IP 4. The valued insight from other students as they look differently on your work can provide so much assistance that you didnt think you needed. I always appreciate the feedback and it allows me to think differently on matters. As it stands, there isnt anything left to be said or questions that I have. While I am not the biggest fan of group projects, I do look forward to working with others and providing the best work possible and learning more from the individuals in this class. The only other approach I can see that would have yielded different results (personally) would be to not wait until the last minute on certain assignments. Sometimes its the way life goes when you work in law enforcement!
